Zoetropes

My objective for this project was to create a short abstract animated video using a technique that I haven’t tried before. The technique is called “zoetrope” which presents a sequence of still images in rapid succession, interspersed with moments of no image when the view is blocked. I derived the idea of creating the zoetrope-inspired animation from a mysterious codex book “Voynich Manuscript”, in which I saw the circular random designs, and when you rotate them in a circle, they form an illusion of the moving image. I was researching the manuscript when I saw this in one of the documentaries. I found it very interesting and wanted to give it a try using my own designs and illustrations.
